Dear Madam/Sir

What a month June, 2010 is for South Africa and Sturrock Shipping!

Over the last few newsletters I have alluded to exciting developments taking place in the Sturrock Group and it gives me great pleasure to announce that our Ships Agency division has concluded a deal to acquire a 100% of two, long established Australian companies, namely Heatherington Kingsbury Shipping Agency and McArthurs Ships Agency.

The deal gives us a nationwide footprint of 14 offices throughout Australia and presents many opportunities for us to use this increased leverage to grow our businesses on both continents. Below you can read the official media statement that was released last month and contains more of the detail around the acquisition.

Equally important, as we grow our Group, is an ever increasing focus on quality and to this end I am delighted that we have successfully managed to obtain our recertification under the new ISO 9001: 2008 standard. This is a cornerstone of of our customer service experience and my congratulations to all of our staff who were instrumental in this success.

Enjoy the newsletter articles and here’s to a hugely successful Soccer World Cup 2010 that will kick off in 8 days time right here in our very own backyard.

With kind regards
